We were not able to have field day this year, so we decided to create some game stations for second grade to enjoy! I wish I was able to take more pictures, but I was busy timing and leading a game station. We caught "meatballs" in ice cream buckets, played charades, bowled with softballs and sparkling water bottles, balanced ping pong balls on paddles, tossed a ball with pillowcases, and played hopscotch. Students were paired with a friend and rotated through the game stations.
The weather was cool -- 56 degrees -- so we celebrated with dirt cups and rice krispie treats on the playground. Hopefully, memories were made, even though it did not feel like field day weather! We are grateful that the rain held off, so that we could enjoy our games outside.
