Matter Flexibility

We have been studying properties of matter.  Mostly, we have been looking at solids, because solids have many properties for us to explore!  We have experimented with strength, texture, absorbency, and now flexibility.  We have discovered that even though there are many solids, they all have different properties.

In this experiment, we tested flexibility of candlewick, a marker, and a Twizzler.  After conducting our tests, we discovered that the candlewick was the most flexible.  Students also discovered that a thin wire was inside the candlewick.  We hypothesized that the wire made the candlewick flexible, but stronger than the Twizzler.  The marker, of course, is not flexible at all.
